"Chinese food tries to engage the mind, not just the palate." - Nicole Mones

How would you feel if we told you that the feeling of digging into a plate full of delicious Indo-Chinese cuisine is served near you with great recipes and quality of food and, and, yes, with all the safety precautions required, isn’t good news?

Dishes such as veg manchow, Thai noodles (which are spicy and creamy!), prawn soups, chicken soups, chicken Manchurian and I guess your mouth must be watering by now, so I am going to cut to the point.

Indo-Chinese food for us Indians isn’t just any food or cuisine, well for most of us with taste. It is memories, it is comfort, it is flavour, it is unique, it’s everything we Indians like!

Everybody likes a good toss of schezwan sauce (authentically called Sichuan, which is a province in China), or chicken and meat battered and fried with delicious sauces and Indian ingredients.

And I guess everyone will back us up on this one, out of every cuisine which has been or is being introduced to Indians, Indo-Chinese has no comparison.

Fried chicken, rice and sauces (just like our Curry that we are famous for) and many more, but I am going to let you know something, The Indo-Chinese cuisine is more Indian than Chinese.

Now that we have started talking about Indo-Chinese cuisine, let’s talk a little about its history.

Going back to the 18th century, at the time of Liberalisation a lot of skilled and unskilled Chinese workers came to India, they were from different regions of China such as Hakka shoemakers, Shandong silk traders, etc. To create a sense of familiarity for themselves they started making their food with Indian ingredients and with a touch of Indian techniques. Later on, the first Chinese restaurant opened in 1924, offering Cantonese food, by the following years a lot of Chinese restaurants were opened up and gave Kolkata’s neighbourhood the name of China town.

The Chinese restaurants were the “IT” place of the time, serving unique food along with familiar yet different tastes to the customers, they became a favourite for the high society of Bombay and visited by not only Bollywood stars but also foreigners.

It is estimated that almost 60% of millennials eat outside and spend 10% of their incomes purchasing food from restaurants.

Now, the consumption of Indo-Chinese food by the Indianpopulation has increased since the 18th century, it’s embedded in our food culture now.

Everybody would love to visit an Indo-Chinese restaurant, but something or the other limits us. Whether it is the quality of the food, the taste, the restaurant’s ambience, or the sanitation and hygiene.

During covid, the first and the main concern of foodies is sanitation and the proper procedures are being followed or not?

"First we eat, then we do everything else." - M.F.K. Fisher

And if you’re someone who relates to the quote above, we are not going to waste your time anymore and disclose the good news for you, if you are living in the following cities: Nagpur, Bhopal, Raipur, Bharuch, Surat, Pune, Indore, Bengaluru You can visit the Chalu Chinese outlets.

Which was founded by Mr. Vibhanshu Mishra and Mr. Raju SinghNagar, they have established various world-renowned brands in the past 18 years, to cater to the Indian tastes and cravings of Indo Chinese food, they established Chalu Chinese.

Now obviously you can visit, but why you should visit and experience their food?

The menu of chalu Chinese consists of cuisines from Burmese, Malaysian, Thai, Korean & Chinese with a spectacular desi touch, leaving you wanting more.

Not only that, they claim to serve you food made with love, which is made using selected ingredients. They make the food with a lot of devotion and effort which will give you the taste of the cuisine along with a desi touch to give it a hint of familiarity and comfort. They use authentic pan Asian techniques cooking techniques.

Not only the taste but the presentation and aroma of the food will confirm and make it worth your money because they give priority to your choices and value your hard-earned money being spent.

Their signature dishes are “Gajab Ka Seena”, “Khaosuey” and “Chalu Kumbh” but they have expanded their brand to Chalu momos, to not only satisfy your hungry tummy but also give you the street food feel of serving delicious momos made with amazing fillings.

Another expansion of their brand is Chalu Fried Chicken and who doesn’t like fried chicken?

Flavour? Check, chicken? Check, building your body and need protein? Check, healthy and yummy? Check! What is amazing is that they don’t use Ajinomoto and artificial and palm oils!

CFC, yes, Chalu Fried Chicken started their journey on 7th December in Bengaluru 2021!

Now everybody would wonder the reason behind “Chalu” in their name, and guess what who is chalu? People with creativity enough to innovate new things and cater or do things that people normally won’t and this is exactly what “Chalu” stands for in “Chalu Chinese” it is to signify how they modified the real taste of the dish to bring out a new delicious version of it. And as the Italian chef in queen said, “You Indians put chilli everywhere! You can’t put chilli everywhere!” but the thing is that we Indians will relate with rani. The Indian ingredients enhance the taste of the dishes for us and make the dishes more familiar for us and that is what Chalu Chinese offers us.

Adding to these points, they also offer career opportunities such as corporate head chef, for the people aspiring to work in the food industry and kickstart their career and offering their franchise to expand their brand and make the delicious food available nation-wide.
